Pros

Dedicated folks in social work programs, PACE, Friendship Line, Connect, Education and Elder Abuse Prevention. People working long hours, with not much opportunity for advancement or pay raises (some not for years)

Cons

Don't need both a CEO and COO. The CEO makes too much money, and his job (as well as his vision for IOA) is unclear. Home Care Dept is costly, and bleeding $.

Both my managers and coworkers have been incredibly supportive and helpful, creating a welcoming and collaborative work environment. I feel very grateful to the Institute on Aging for giving me the opportunity to join such a wonderful team.

Pros

Great nonprofit mission, pleasant office location

Cons

Incompetent management, toxic personalities, and wasteful spending make this a dramatically unpleasant place to work. Stay away if you value your time and peace of mind.
