Pros

I was turned on to IOA because to the tremendous possibilities. They have several departments which seem to offer seniors in the community an array of services and resources. On the surface, it seems like a wonderful organization to work for. Pay is slightly better than many other non-profits.

Cons

Terrible management. Overturn rate high. Lack of compassion for seniors. Big talk without follow through. Misappropriation of funds. Sweep under rug approach.

I have been with the team for approximately two months now, and I am happy to share that my experience has been very positive. Both my managers and coworkers have been incredibly supportive and helpful, creating a welcoming and collaborative work environment. I feel very grateful to the Institute on Aging for giving me the opportunity to join such a wonderful team.

Cons

Pros

Great nonprofit mission, pleasant office location

Cons

Incompetent management, toxic personalities, and wasteful spending make this a dramatically unpleasant place to work. Stay away if you value your time and peace of mind.
