Pros

There's plenty of jobs open available in Manufacturing, which will enable you to learn a little bit about the industry and understand how this company's products are made. You have versatility to move around operations where available, which allows you to become more informed about the entire manufacturing process. This can give you an advantage if you plan on become a people leader in Manufacturing. If you are hourly, you get a generous PTO accrual, paid holidays, and relatively good health benefits. Other pretty good optional benefits, and 401-K is matched up to 5%, though it's only 100% matched for the first 3% and 50% matched for the next 2% (stated on Fidelity). The people you work directly with and in your close management are truly skilled, amazing people. I haven't met anyone here that I worked with on a day-to-day basis that I didn't like. There are also plenty of really good opportunities to join ARGs and

Cons

You're going to be underpaid for what you do, no matter what you do. Unless you get yourself into management, or you can get in quick as an Account Manager or some kind of corporate leadership, you're gonna be at the lower range of your pay grade - every time. IDT recently has had two rounds of layoff as of 2025, the second round had additional information provided to the media by Iowa WARN - 61 employees laid off. There is rarely any opportunity for growth or skills building, so if you're someone who is hoping to get some industry advantages, you'll want to look elsewhere. One of the L1's suggested you learn to "use AI" when asked what skills or experiences we should gain to avoid a potential layoff. No concrete information or valuable insights, just parroting talking points because there is no way to avoid it. Grow too big in a non-sales or non-senior leadership position and you're subject to get shafted. The L2/L1 team do not understand what you do at all, have bloated salaries & compensation packages, and rarely stay here for more than 5 years before being moved to a more corporate position or just leaving the company entirely. It's weird being led by a bunch of people like this when I can think of several people across the company who have been here for a decade or longer who could lead it extremely well. But they don't have an MBA, so I guess that's their fault. It shows you where Danaher's priorities lie. On top of this, leadership also folds to political pressure as IDT used to have a pride flag fly all year round, and took it down when the second Trump administration started. So, not only do they lack leadership and experience with the company, they are also spineless.
