Pros

Great coworkers (usually) Can be a really fun and rewarding job Lots of hours available Managers and upper management are majority really good people Good sense of community Some locations are really fantastic to work at.

Cons

Low pay Management seems overworked Training available is good, but still left me with lots of questions Can be dangerous as well as emotionally difficult Can be very very boring as well. Some locations are awful to work at. It really depends.

Pros

-Some of the individuals I worked with genuinely made the job feel worth showing up for -My manager genuinely cared about her staff and was one of the better bosses I've ever had

Cons

-The pay is too low for the amount of mental and emotional energy this job requires -Training is inadequate for what's expected of you -The interview process did not prepare me for the reality of the job. You may be assigned to work alone with clients who have documented histories of violence and sexual aggression. -High turnover, unprofessional coworkers, and a culture that seems indifferent to fixing either -The impact on my mental health was significant and lasting
