Pros
Gained meaningful experience handling large-scale training and compliance initiatives under pressure. Worked closely with Amazon’s systems and standards, which provided valuable insight into corporate compliance expectations. The select staff were hardworking and deserved far better leadership and support.
Cons
Leadership often prioritized looking compliant over being compliant. When issues were flagged, the focus was more on controlling perception than addressing root causes. Efforts to improve processes or report accurately were frequently dismissed, ignored, or penalized. Requests for support or clarification routinely went unanswered or were shut down, leaving trainers to carry unreasonable workloads with little guidance. Decisions were made without input from those doing the work, yet trainers were held accountable for outcomes they had no authority to control. Concerns about fairness, safety, and accuracy were not taken seriously, and high turnover in the role reflects deeper structural dysfunction. Human resources were run by a remote support team which was largely unavailable or unresponsive, including the compliance investigation team. Calls concerning sexual harassment and unethical practices were not returned for investigation.
