Pros

If you want to work a lot of overtime, this is a great place to be. If you think working that overtime, working extra days, working 24hr shifts on occasion will be valued by your employer enough to forgive you for not punching out for lunch and then back in, you are wrong. They would be willing to give you a paid day off the following week though, so long as you put in a pto request. But the good news is, if you wanted to keep that pto for an actual vacation or emergency, they will never allow you to take unpaid time off on a day you are normally scheduled to work, even if it's a paid holiday...oh and all those pesky things, holidays...they will pay you to be there, and if you are in maintenance, demand that you are there even if there is nothing significant planned. If you are a machine center operator or clean up guy, it's a paid holiday and you are not expected to be there.

Cons

Well...more than once now I have seen the management slow-walk significant, quality of life altering injury claims dependant upon whether or not they had already had injury claims in the given month. Not to mention the flat out insistence that your injury couldn't possibly have happened while on the job. They will never hire/keep enough people on staff to allow for all shifts to be filled so, get ready to be pressured into working longer hours and extra days. And in an economy like this, don't expect them to maintain a parts inventory or even all the required PPE to keep doing the job/adhere to company policy.
