Pros

- Pay very well in comparison to public districts - Good health insurance, employee assistance - Provide professional development (additional opportunities pretty consistently available) - Equity minded and trauma informed staff - Admin truly wants to support you to grow, doesn't expect perfection - Encourage moving upward/new positions in the district - Program to help EA's become teachers

Cons

- Very long hiring process! 1 month between interview and actually starting - No skills training for Education Assistants (tough if you're new to education field) - Although equity-minded, admin and teachers are majority white/cis/straight while EA's are largely POC/LGBTQ+ - Depending on the partner site, your position/location/tasks can change frequently

Pros

Medical benefit, working with colleagues

Cons

One of the cons was working with 287 is there new superintendent we believe she does not understand the students we serve. Also, there is no room to move up within the company, even if you do have a degree..
