Attracts nice coworkers, always something new to do, varying duties and responsibilities, yearly performance review, good way to learn more. about other positions in the company, ability to work from home as hybrid schedule occasional days each week
Cons
Turn over in management leads to changes in performance expectations, loophole where new title positions created do not have to be posted and can be handed to candidate of management choosing, Customer Service becomes a catch all for tasks not currently performed by other departments (A/R, A/P, collection research, internal training), to advance without a 4-year degree is very difficult, management would take outside applicants over internal candidates without a degree even if performance has been flawless, pay level disparity and inability for company to recognize Customer Service as more than entry level, it takes 1-2 years to be proficient in the necessary systems.
