Pros

As many hours as you want during tax season. Low pay for the work. You're better off getting a PTIN and doing returns for clients.

Cons

Some of the customer calls are extremely rude. You'll encounter people who are serious idiots and you have to talk them through their problems and concerns. Managers can get in the weeds and not assist you with difficult calls. No work after tax season until the next year. Depending on your manager, the job can be fun to do or a horrible experience. If the manager is rude or condescending (like you supposed to know everything about the tax code) sometimes you're chastised for asking questions.

That it was a contract and they couldn’t put me on long term.

Pros

Amazing benefits and good people

Cons

Culture has shifted drastically. The expectation now is do more for less. What used to be above and beyond is now just achieving expectations. You're expected to absorb the work of everyone let go. You do 4 peoples' jobs, but the concept of promotions or pay raises is out of the question. Trust from customers and employees toward leaders is completely broken. The only prosperity being powered is the prosperity of shareholders and investors.
