Pros
Intuit's mission is one of the best out there - "Powering prosperity around the world" and it's reflected in the work that the company prioritizes and, critically, how the company measures its success. For example, with Quickbooks and Mailchimp, we are solving some of the biggest problems small businesses have which include finding and keeping customers, getting paid and getting access to capital. We will be successful when companies on our platform have a 20pts better survival rate at 5 years than companies not on the Intuit Platform. Small and medium sized businesses are the backbone of the global economy - creating far more jobs and prosperity in their communities than all the large companies combined. The company has a really strong set of values to speak to me personally, including stronger together which is exemplified by Intuit's deep and continued commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion - especially when many companies are backing away. This speaks to the durability and importance of our values as the bedrock of our culture. We have a great mission and really meaningful problems to solve for our customers and we get to do that with some really cool technology based on an AI driven platform. We have access to an incredible amount of data to help our customers make their right decisions for the financial well being. We have been investing in AI for many years which puts us ahead of most technology companies that are just talking about it or trying to figure out how to apply it to their business. For engineers who want to work on big problems with great data and platform infrastructure to lean into, this is a great place to be.
Cons
The pace is not for everyone and we are driving a lot of transformation and change to accelerate outcomes for our customers. For people who like to be part of a fast paced environment where we experiment quickly and pivot to solve customer problems faster, this is the place to be. If you like things to be a little more sedate or predictable, it may not be as good a match.
