Pros
I wanted to share my experience as someone newer to the company. First, I can admit, it takes a minute to fully grasp what the company does. There are two sides: a side that specializes in training external clients' AI models, and a side that utilizes existing AI tools and human intelligence to help streamline processes for businesses. Which businesses? All businesses. The use cases are endless. You will be on one of these two sides if you are not in a central function, and no, you don't need to know anything about AI before joining. People: Everyone is incredibly nice. You'll find that people from every area of the company put time on your calendar to just chat and introduce themselves. No one seems out of reach. Need something? Just ask. Onboarding: There is a very thorough onboarding that you're presented with right away. It will lay out all the videos and training material you need for your first four weeks. Remote Flexibility: This has to be one of the best parts. If you've read the partner pay model, you know the pay is set; no negotiating. But what you may not know is that pay is the same no matter where you move. So, your pay is the same if you live in San Francisco or Idaho (admittedly a pro and a con). Career Upside: I joined Invisible because of the long-term upside. They're profitable, they're involved in helping shape some of the world's leading technology, and they partner with some of the biggest companies in the world, to whom you'll also get exposure.
Cons
Learning curve: Like many companies, there is a lot to learn when you just start. I found that with the fast-paced, ever-changing nature of this company, it can make getting up to speed even harder. The good thing is, everyone knows it, so they tailor their expectations of new hires. Pay: As I mentioned above, this can be both good and bad. Having a set non-negotiable pay can sometimes feel like there is little monetary reward for good work, but bonuses and stock exist. I think you have to have an honest conversation with yourself and ask, does the long-term value outweigh the current pay? I'm usually of the belief that if you believe in the company and the mission, the pay eventually comes. Bring your own device: This surprised me the most. They don't give out company-issued laptops or devices. You use what you already have, so make sure your computer is sufficient, or you may find yourself needing to pay out of pocket for a new one.
