Pros

Highly competent senior management leadership. Great wealth of resources and information available from other clubs. Supportive of Employees for the most part. High standards for food, service and atmosphere and good training to help achieve it. Innovation is improving

Cons

Low ,below market wages for hourly staff and for some managers. Capital resources are allocated heavily to trophy and larger locations while smaller market clubs dont get enough help to maintain a competitive facility. Well intended but far too many corporate mandated programs, systems, reporting requirements- does not give local management enough time to implement and run with their own plans. Demands on the Accounting Dept are particularly ridiculous.

Pros

Strong work-life balance compared to public accounting. Leadership is supportive and approachable. The work is meaningful and provides exposure to ASC 740, multi-entity tax provision work, and corporate tax compliance. Employees are generally encouraged to collaborate and help each other succeed.

Cons

Compensation growth may lag behind opportunities available in some areas of public accounting. Advancement opportunities can be limited due to a relatively lean tax department structure. Some processes remain heavily dependent on spreadsheets and manual workflows, which can create inefficiencies during busy periods.
