Pros

No pros - They talk the talk but do not walk the walk.

Cons

If you like to work countless hours on end with little to no appreciation than this is the place for you! They expect you to be available at all hours of the day, night and weekend. They don't give out raises/increases even with great reviews and job performance. Benefits are horrible at best, not competitive at all. They tell you about how great they are, get you to buy in and drink the kool-aid and then never deliver on what they promise. I have never met a company that really could care less about their employees. All they talk about and care about is EBITA. I know you are in business to make money, and trust me they make lots of it - even during COVID, but at what expense to good employees. Churning and burning is not the way to elevate your business. Unfortunately with the way Country Clubs work, Members have to pay their dues regardless so money is always coming in. Inter-departmental communications are almost non-existent and Corporate thinks all Clubs should run the same regardless of their Membership interests. Would never work for or live in a ClubCorp Club - EVER!

Pros

Strong work-life balance compared to public accounting. Leadership is supportive and approachable. The work is meaningful and provides exposure to ASC 740, multi-entity tax provision work, and corporate tax compliance. Employees are generally encouraged to collaborate and help each other succeed.

Cons

Compensation growth may lag behind opportunities available in some areas of public accounting. Advancement opportunities can be limited due to a relatively lean tax department structure. Some processes remain heavily dependent on spreadsheets and manual workflows, which can create inefficiencies during busy periods.
