Thank you so much for your feedback, here at Iyuno we appreciate all feedback, as we see it as constructive criticism and a chance to listen, learn and improve. We would like to start by apologizing for the lack of safety measures you felt like you experienced at your local office. We have looked into the issues you have brought up and reviewed all of the global safety measures that were implemented, and our Malaysia office was included in all of the global safety measures. Our global HR team emphasized that safety was number one priority and communicated that on a daily/weekly basis company-wide and ensured that communication was cascaded locally. These global safety measures did include temperature checks at the entrance which were asked to be put into place as early as January 29 in all of our offices.
All offices had employees who needed to come into the office due to the nature of their job, but we ensured that they all worked in shifts, and that studios and the office were cleaned after each session. In addition to this, each studio has been provided with disinfectant spray used for sanitizing the equipment. This measure aligns with other studio practices in Asia and is included in the cleaning SOP. We also made sure to compensate for transportation costs. For the rest of our staff, we stressed a remote working arrangement and made sure we were flexible with their schedules.
Communications on updates and current information surrounding COVID was and still is taken seriously. Our leadership team and global HR host weekly (now bi-weekly) company-wide town halls - opening the floor for Q&As, announcing what Iyuno is doing to keep staff safe, and how we are tackling obstacles created by COVID. We also communicate to each office to heed and comply with their local government regulations on lockdown and restrictions.
In Malaysia, the management team complied with the government’s advice on MCO and did not allow employees (specifically Subtitling team members) to work at the office during the MCO period. Now that the restrictions have eased up (as of June 9th), only the Dubbing team members (in a controlled and authorized shift like manner to avoid crowding) are allowed to go to the office to work in the studio where they are accompanied and assisted by the office admin staff / receptionist who ensure the office is disinfected regularly. And as mentioned before, temp checks were and still are conducted along with requests for travel declaration submissions for both employees and visitors, and strict hygiene protocols and SOP have been set for any staff member who returns to the office.
We are constantly staying up to date on what other safety measures we can implement based on how COVID progresses, but if you have more specific suggestions regarding safety that you would like to share and have us implement, we are more than happy to take it into consideration. This is a novel viral pandemic and a first for Iyuno. We are not only doing the best we can to ensure that our staff is safe but also learning and adapting along the way.
