In a similar vein - they will tell you "never had a layoff". True. They just try to get you to quit by treating you poorly when they need to reduce headcount. 3. Every spring someone tries to make a career out of cutting costs by reducing dev tools and substitute cheap alternatives that aren't fit for task. The someone cutting costs never has to eat their own dog food though.
