Pros

Many years of shared business experience in transportation, logistics, and supply chain. Lots of caring and smart people work there. If you are flexible enough to follow company needs, there are opportunities to move around the org and explore various career paths. No traditional layoffs so if you keep your head down and do a good job, you could have a long career there. Many people there for 15, 20, 30 years. Lots of learning and tech opportunities.

Cons

Business and technology often at odds and can result in mutual manipulation rather than true partnership. When unity does exist between senior leaders, it doesn't often translate effectively to the rest of the company. Feels like some leaders don't trust each other and that distrust is spreading. Many people tell leaders what they want to hear out of fear. Lower performers allowed to stay around longer than they should while higher performers leave, even when the job market isn't good. While there are promotion opportunities, several were created by people leaving the company, not from growth. Spoken values don't match actions.

Pros

Good pay for the type of account. Salaried position. Some weeks I may only work one or two days, 8-20 hours. Other weeks I may work 60-70 hours. Great for a single guy if you don't care about a social life.

Cons

Never know what kind of schedule I would have. Changes constantly. Basically an on call truck driver.
