Pros

Department supervisors got their own truck to drive back and forth to work. That was by far the best and only benefit of working at the La Salle, CO feed lot. Otherwise, benefits and pay were below average.

Cons

Very corrupt culture and system in place. Worst management and facilities I've ever had to deal with. No teamwork at all. Had no budget to properly run or staff the elevator. OSHA would have closed us down if they knew how bad things were. They made employees work overtime (sometimes up to 80 hrs a week) but did not PAY overtime because of a loop hole in CO law. This made it very difficult as a mgr to hire quality employees. I had 9 people under me and most were ex-cons or in the country illegally. Stench of cow manure and dead animals 24/7. Flys in the summertime were unbearable. I was a supervisor on salary but still worked 70-80 hr weeks because of how understaffed we were. Easily the worst job I've ever had.
