Pros
Mileage, commission vs draw, client base, referrals, your own hours, flexibility. Company recognition when going over sales quotas. Variety of products priced from high to low to fit every budget. Great customer incentives for no interest to help sales. Paid phone and ipad, samples and sales materials.
Cons
Commission only, always had to pay drawback if undersold. The amount of product you had to carry around constantly. Not enough support when you needed it. You had to also check on customers' jobs and see them all the way to the end making sure they were scheduled. You would have to contact vendors, so even though it was commission only you could not focus on sales alone. Late hours on tedious estimates. Sometimes over and above 40 hour work weeks.
