Pros

They manage construction work across many industries and have a very large and impressive portfolio.

Cons

At the North-Central offices, you're likely to get pigeon-holed into one type of work and have very little chance for advancement unless you are considered a favorite by someone important. Even under the assumption that consideration for advancement is a fair process based on performance, there would be no real room as they tend to be so top-heavy. At the time I left there were approximately 30 office employees that broke down into one President and five or six co-Vice Presidents; one of which worked in the office for about a year before being promoted as such. Their HR department was less than stellar, often resolving issues such as racist remarks by simply relocating offended employees by a few cubicles so they won't hear it as well. In all fairness, the small group atmosphere led to such issues happening infrequently, but on the rare occasions they did, management didn't feel the need to handle situations as directly as one should expect.

Pros

Great family oriented company. Growing fast currently, with the ESOP stock price following suit.

Cons

Base pay lower than most big GC's with a lot of the pay coming through bonuses and ESOP. ESOP is only partially, less than 50% owned by employees. The Dunn family stills owns the majority.
