Pros

Good time off and holidays. Once you're in, you can stick around forever. Medical benefits were good too. I learned a lot about office culture.

Cons

JEVS doesn't think outside the box or innovate in its field. Some shake ups in the senior staff would do the place good. I noticed a lot of infighting and nastiness from some long time employees. Not a lot of room for career advancement or raises. My requests for more responsibility were always denied. A lot of talk about budget cuts, but the org seemed very wasteful as a whole.

Pros

Good work environment, many employees have been there for years, many who work there are genuinely caring people.

Cons

Typical not-for-profit social service organization facing the same dire landscape that non-profits around the country are facing right now.
