Pros

It really feels like working with family. The associates are great to work with, at least most, the company does a great job recognizing good work, and the benefits are great too. From free gym, hair cut and manicures, to affordable meals at the cafeteria, to massages and discounts in vehicles and parts. One of the best things I enjoyed was the foundation events. Every month there was an organization or local event to give back to the community. I allowed me to meat other associates while bonding helping our community. The average tenure is about 10 years so almost everyone enjoys their role.

Cons

The learning and development program needs more direction. Managers don't know go to coach and mentor. Also, they wait until your annual review to give you feedback, which doesn't give you time to improve if you don't know what you need to work on. Also, it is very hard to find new opportunities to advance your career. Red tape and favoritism are very noticeable and frustrating.

Pros

JM provides good opportunities for the range of professional corporate occupations available in South Florida.

Cons

Too much "get along, go along" culture which may be okay if one is planning to stay with JM through retirement, but is not helpful if one's career progression involves employment with other companies. As a rule, the best places I worked at encouraged creativity, systems thinking, adaptability, integrity, and trust. These values felt lacking during my six-month tenure at JM back in 2014.
