Pros
There are great employees you will work with, the bad ones are bad for sure but the good ones are more prevalent. FANTASTIC benefits, I have yet to work anywhere that has the generous retirement benefits offered (especially for administrator) ample time off (considering the amount of paid holidays). Medical benefits are also super affordable for single and family. Spouse and children tuition benefits are also nice)
Cons
Chasing innovation for innovation sake and make sweeping changes with out considering how it impacts employees and students day to day. They say they value open communication but people who ask questions or address concern are definitely penalized. Leadership is often secretive and dishonest which fuels a lot of distrust from the nonleadership. Accountablity is low. Culture of micromanagement is present in many departments. Leadership asks for feedback but often do nothing with it. They say they are committed to diversity equity and inclusion but it's largely talk. The number of BIPOC employees that satay more than 1-2 years is minimal (count on one hand)They definitely don't make LGBTQ+ employees feel included or important in 2022 they did NOTHING for pride month until June 28 and they basically just put a pride flag on the large flag pole for 2 days. They don't value pay equity either unless you are in the union and that's probably because they are forced to. There are quite a few "cliques"
