Pros
This is a beautiful department to work in knowing everyday you are serving an helping an individual with their tormenting life having to battle through mental health. This department you feel there is a lot of communication as a team and the Chief psychiatrist in the department is humble and understanding , her attitude reflects wanting the best for each department, staff and patients.
Cons
In the outpatient department the director shows preference. While working there they gave me an old desk and chair that I had to figure it out and work with. I was informed I will be hired to work in each department and be floating around. I was the only one attending the window in that department and was not floating around as I was told, I was the one if someone was absent I had to cover for. To be the only one attending the window for each member and never considered or praised for going the extra mile for each patient was unbelievable. I was never rewarded for my work. This job hurt my mental health, emotional help, and hurt my self esteem. After, it was highly affecting my health I was dismissed with no opportunity to make things better I was in shock because this is a mental health facility and they did not care to help me. However, glad they did because I would've never left and now I am in a very happy company that gives me the opportunity to grow. I don't understand till this day why the director was so unfair with the staff. I always went the extra mile, never said no to do something. Every employee in that department complained, talked rudely about director and never wanted to cover for me while I went on break yet I was never given a verbal good job or thank you for always saying yes and being an employee that always went the extra mile.
