Pros
Average salary and benefits. Reasonable 401k matching. Interesting (at times) work. Little travel.
Cons
Third class serf. Bottom of food chain (under Gov't and MIT/MITRE) although in many cases, providing the substance of technical expertise. Amazing. Also, no provision for sick time. Cold, flu, snow day...hey, just use your limited personal (vacation) time while the gov't team gets seemingly unlimited "compensation". Yup, THAT builds team cohesion!
