Pros

The non-technical leadership is fantastic, the CEO and COO are fully committed to the company and it's values. JG Cares about it's culture a lot, it has a family-like vibe. They hired fun, interesting people from many backgrounds. Lots of multi-talented people. It was not very corporate, people mostly wore their personalities on their sleeve. People were generally the #1 asset to the company. They dedicated time for having fun, like engagement hours and War Week. There was not a lot of politics.

Cons

All of the cons are because contracting/consulting is a difficult industry. The company’s margin is entirely composed of the delta between wages and hourly billable rates. This creates downward salary pressure for employees. Working on a time & materials basis does not make sense for software because one’s value-add is not related to time. There are no decent senior engineers/architects that stick around because they have poor WLB and leave for roles at product companies where they work less for more money. The work also isn't very interesting, lots of CRUD apps and not much room for innovation.

Pros

Remote work for people outside new york, pay for travel if you want to

Cons

I was hired but it took 2 months. Recruiter was horrible. Pay doesnt make up for it. You can tell the leadership team here is poorly chosen. Colleague of mine got denied for a position after being reached out to by Janel group. That just shows bad business practice. Figure it out.
