Pros

James Hardie is a highly respected company in the building products industry with one of the most advanced products available in the market today. Spend some years with James Hardie, and you are likely to find your next interview much easier with "James Hardie Building Products" on the top of your resume. Benefit are absolutely world-class. Company vehicle and gas card add significant value to overall compensation package.

Cons

Downturn in market has created a micro-managing atmosphere that can be difficult for some people that are used to the "old Hardie" ways, where sales representatives were given more freedom to manage their business.

Pros

- Laid back management - Good product with a built in advantage of being the brand name in siding. Easy to get crews, builders, and contractors to adopt it because it actually performs well and looks great. - Solid benefits - Home office work mostly - You are given a ton of leeway to create your own plan of attack for your market

Cons

- Most of the team in HQ that creates strategic plans has never actually stood on pumpjacks and install ed the product and has an immense lack of understanding of how the product is actually installed and the difficulties/challenges they face. - Training can be a bit lacking. I would definitely recommend only working for this company if you have experience either doing exterior construction (speciically siding) work or have worked in the industry previously

Pros

good health benefits, decent pay, 6% 401k match

Cons

a lot of coworkers related to each other, favoritism all over the place. racism noticeable on the production end of the prattville plant. not safe to work if you’re a female.
