Pros
JET trainee pay is competitive within the first few years. (Excluding Banking and Consulting) with OK benefits. Multiple opportunities for career discussions. Breadth of companies within Jardines. Some friendly people. Company stability. Prestige within Hong Kong.
Cons
Large variety of company cultures within the group, some are quite toxic, hierarchical and backward. “Work hard” but not “play hard”. Many companies within the group are very operational, and not innovation focused, which probably comes from lack of diversity in leadership (thought - many people stay in jardines, and demographic). Great if you want to work in Hong Kong, but as a “international” conglomerate, many offices outside of hong kong are smaller and likited. Salary also doesnt catch up with competitors and benefits are limited (no discounts, no stocks).
