Pros
Jasper Mountain is so much more than a treatment center for abused children. It's an opportunity to work with some of the most committed, compassionate, and devoted individuals - and to be a part of changing the world for a child that's only seen pain. It's not always easy, and there are good days and bad. But the camaraderie among staff, the ability to play and have fun with kids (hiking, swimming in the river, sports, camping, horseback riding, etc), and the experience in the field is unmatched anywhere else. Jasper is more than an agency, it's a family founded program and when you work there you become part of that family. Other pros: an onsite employee daycare, decent benefits, a flexible schedule, opportunities to do other things within the agency, good food!
Cons
Like any job, there are some cons: No one will get rich working in non-profit, but the salaries are comparable to other similar positions. At times staff can get burnt out because the children are challenging.
