Pros
(Fading legacy of) great fire protection engineering
Cons
The person who posted the five star glowing review recently is from Marketing, and is DEFINITELY not a Project Engineer on our team! Just more futile attempts at PR from a sinking company. “Not fair” comment from that same review is invalid because you cannot pick on someone for their honest assessment of what used to be compared to now. It is definitely a lot of people’s opinions that the outlook is very grim, and we all KNOW we are working much harder for much less money and benefits, and that several company acquisitions and expensive purchases do not make any sense. I’m not sure why the reviewer is saying that others are from small firms or living in the past....? The reality is RIGHT NOW that money is all the new owners and execs care about. Yes, run it like a business, of course, but also emphasize personal and professional fulfillment, work-life balance, adequate benefits to compete with the local job market, and appreciation and recognition for jobs well done. The soulless, relentless drive for more billable hours for less compensation is a company’s long term death sentence, which the reviewer is conveniently ignoring.
