Pros

Work in a fast paced environment if you’re looking for that

Cons

They’re going to expect you to work long hours constantly and expect to have to work a full day on New Year’s Eve if it falls on a weekday. If you can’t keep up with their increasing expectations of you or if a hiccup happens in the economy be prepared to lose your job.

Thank you for your feedback. We hire very talented people and do have high expectations for their performance. That environment is not for everyone. We appreciate the feedback on offering NYE as a paid holiday. We do have a generous PTO package that can be used for vacation days as well as 9 paid holidays for Ontario-based employees but are always looking at new ways to enhance our benefits. Just this month, we began giving birthdays as a paid vacation day as well.

Pros

Working as a Software Engineer at Jerry.ai honestly feels like being in a constant sprint with some of the sharpest minds I’ve met. The dev culture here is wild, people think fast, build fast, and expect results that actually matter. You’re given full ownership of your projects, from design to deployment, and it’s super satisfying seeing your code go live within days. The engineering problems are legit interesting too we’re talking large-scale optimization, performance tuning, and automation challenges that push you to think beyond just syntax. I really vibe with the “figure it out, ship it, and iterate” mindset. It’s high-energy, collaborative, and full of those late-night “wait, that actually worked?” moments.

Cons

If you’re someone who values crystal-clear direction and structured workflows like me, Jerry.ai might feel a bit overwhelming at times. The company’s still scaling, so processes can feel rough around the edges and sometimes documentation lags behind features, and it’s easy to get lost juggling multiple priorities. Communication across teams can get tricky too, especially when everyone’s moving a mile a minute. You learn to sync fast and over-communicate, but it takes a bit of adjusting. Also, because expectations are high, imposter syndrome can sneak in when you’re surrounded by brilliant people. But if you take it as motivation instead of pressure, you’ll grow faster than anywhere else.
