Pros
I honestly i don't a lot of positive things to say at this point. I used to love the atmosphere, customers, and camaraderie between stores in my area. However, with the recession going on things are turning a little sour. The only good things I can say would be about my current manager and another manager in another store. Bless their hearts, they try to do everything they can to soften the blow that the upper management seems to pull nearly every week.
Cons
I'm not sure if it's just my area, but it seems as if the upper management is trying to create competition between the stores when there was none when i first started working here. Nowadays, people who work at different stores don't associate with each other. The faxes that we receive are in a passive aggressive tone, basically telling us to bend over backwards and do back flips in order to sell. The pay is terrible. Making commission is very hard to do nowadays. If you're in school like I am, it can be hard to work with schedule changes because they want you there at whatever time they tell you to come, even though you've discussed your school schedule with them and you've both come to an agreement. It just doesn't seem like they want you to better yourself. Because of the recession, it makes it a lot harder to sell things even though we have constant sales. It doesn't seem like the company wants to promote within
