Pros
Great culture and wonderful people to work with
Cons
If you want to never have the time to focus on yourself and your goals in a place you'l go nowhere fast, Support is the place for you! We are constantly hounded to meet SLAs, and then teased with the idea of the Performance Grid, and Jobber's career jungle gym. The 'performance grid' is a convoluted mess of nonsense that will not help you move forward, up, or anywhere except OUT of Jobber. Our specific department has sunset not one, not two, but THREE managers in the last 1.5 years or so and one after one has been completely incompetent and full of corporate euphemisms. So many of the people hired into management here are the ones who know how to say the right things. Unless they were directly promoted from within Jobber, they are ultimately useless. There's absolutely no certainty about wage increases, and the ones they promise you when you are getting hired can be cancelled with a sweeping HR decision at an instant's notice despite your performance being quality and steady. Members of your direct team are placed into positions of minute power over you in a 'float' role, and 98% of them will micromanage the everloving daylights out of you if you leave so much as 4 minutes between your very complex calls. The client base are alright but some of them have a grossly misplaced sense of entitlement and importance and those ones can be abusive and downright horrid to deal with. This is not helped at all by the fact that the support department are chronically understaffed to begin with.
