They really market growth as a selling point to work here but I'm confused as to why. Getting promoted in some roles is nearly impossible. You hit a certain point and then are stuck for years. If you want to move laterally, it's a maybe but super limited. But getting promoted upwards feels impossible. Leaders don't seem to know how to support career development as a result and it is easy to feel stagnant, unmotivated and uninspired. Really poor culture. There is a huge divide between the people that have been at Jobber for a long time and those that are new. Management either doesn't think this divide exists or do not know how to actually have good culture as the team grows. Everyone is lovely but that does not mean the culture is- the culture is not great and does not seem to be an intentional priority. We recently did an in person event and it was nice, but there needs to be intention beyond that from every part of the organization. Not seeing it Individual achievements are not celebrated consistently or well. It's just kinda seen that you are just doing your job. Easy to feel burnt out. There's also been lots of firing or lay offs lately. People seem to be hired then fired or quit quickly. That says a lot.
