Pros

Great parties and solid benefits. The pay can be good if you are in a manager seat with a solid team.

Cons

This place has such a bad reputation in every industry they touch that I don't even list them on my LinkedIn anymore. They are why recruiters have such a bad image in the marketplace. It's clear that all the good reviews are managers, key performer and new recruiters who posted multiple times over the years. Many of the bad reviews get reported and taken down. Let's talk pay. You are completely on a draw system which means you get a "salary" but all your commissions go to paying that back. This isn't extremely clear when you start so be sure you are ready for that kind of payout. If you really are a skilled recruiter joining this company consider this. Draws are best when you are receiving more than 80% commissions. Reason being, you could start your own agency with a business loan for much less than that and essentially that is a draw. You don't have to bill Half a Million dollars to survive and instead can do 1-2 placements a month and make a very comfortable living. If you are looking for a place where you can grow a skillset, to be looked at as a whole human, and not just a dollar amount, then this is NOT the place. You will get zero support from most of management and most of them do not have an interest in growing your skillset. You are just a number that is equal to the payout that they receive from your billing. The way they push that is by giving you absurd metrics to hit. This should be the biggest red flag for anyone joining. You are expected to come in with your current skillset and client book and then bill. If you ever have a bad month, be prepared to be micromanaged and forgotten about. In the end, they just want bodies in seats and new agreements from the recruiters they bring in. They are happy to take the loss because that person may bring in a dozen new agreements from their previous business and can farm some resumes for their database. There is a crazy amount of infighting due to the fact that no one has a territory or industry to focus on. Clients and candidates alike are barraged with dozens emails, inmails and cold calls DAILY from multiple recruiters at a time. If you are at all an Account Based Sales/Recruiting professional your targets will be worn out by the time they are ready to consider you. Not to mention candidate and client ownership is a nightmare. Take a look at the google reviews from both employers and candidates. They have some shady recruiting practices like sending candidates without their knowledge or consent. This is not only common practice it is also encouraged. The tech is decent, the proprietary platform is a cool system but its nothing special you couldn't get from some of the newer techs on the market. Hardly anything to join for. In the end it's all fake. From their reviews to their social media posts and their leadership and true motivations. The CEO is a great marketer and she has built out a great gamified system but the actual work being done there leaves a lot to be desired on a professional level. "Kindness Matters" is a tenant simply to suppress dissent.

Pros

Fully remote, full autonomy, free Friday’s, incredible leaders and colleagues, the list goes on. I can’t say enough great things about this company. CEO is a brilliant woman and you’d never know or expect this in a company this size but she knows every single employee by name, whether you’re at the tippity top or barely moving the needle. Jobot is everything it claims to be, plain and simple. When they claim kindness and respect is the foundation of their company, they live by those words.

Cons

This isn’t necessarily a con but this industry is NOT for the weak. It is a grind and then some. If you are not willing to grind and work hard, this is not the job for you.
