Pros
- The overall company culture is great, and for the most part it feels like a family. - A strong place to get your foot in the door as a manufacturing engineer. - Plenty of team‑based and independent projects to keep you engaged. - Deere offers excellent growth opportunities within the company, though you shouldn’t expect to advance within the same facility. - Great worker benefits
Cons
- You are the first point of contact for everything, including tasks outside your job description, which can slow your progress. - Management is very hands‑off, so if you require direction, this role may not be a good fit. - Long hours without overtime pay (typically 45–60 hours per week). - You may be expected to work weekends, though you can request overtime pay when applicable. - Management at the Springfield facility is very poor, but they are more transparent than other Deere facilities.
