Pros

Many people stay forever... if you are ok with lack of upward mobility, it can be a steady job. I enjoyed working with my team. The health system is very well regarded and provides excellent care.

Cons

Administrative staff have very poor PTO. National Holidays subtracted from PTO bank and as well as mandatory ‘admin’ days off. Company is trying to cut costs at every end. Lots of reorganization.

Dear Employee: Thank you for expressing your thoughts and concerns. John Muir Health welcomes and encourages employee feedback and questions regarding our current and future work environment. Executing on our quality, safety, affordability and patient experience strategies will allow John Muir Health to continue to provide access to high-quality care for our community for many years to come. Because the Bay Area healthcare market is extremely dynamic and rapidly evolving, we must periodically review and adjust our tactics to ensure we are on the right course. That direction is to be a high-quality, affordable and locally governed independent health system serving the community for generations to come. We value the contributions of each and every John Muir Health employee and offer competitive compensation and benefits packages based on continuous analysis of the San Francisco Bay Area market. Our many great benefits and valuable resources support our employees in creating the life and work style that brings the best to them and their families. We believe our success is a reflection of the outstanding work performed by our employees and reward that service and dedication with comprehensive PTO, retirement and post-retirement benefits. We firmly stand by our “Open Door” Policy, and warmly welcome the opportunity to speak with you as well as employees at all levels, who have concerns. John Muir Health encourages its employees to openly communicate concerns by speaking with their direct supervisor, reaching out to a knowledgeable HR professional or anonymously speaking to a qualified representative. We encourage you to exercise our Brand Promise of, “We Listen – We Explain – We Work Together as a Team” and seek out any of the above options to further communicate and address your concerns.
