Pros
Benefit package, low turnover (you have to do something really terrible to get fired), paid lunches for end of month (because you are forced to work through your lunch).
Cons
Unfortunately to SimplexGrinnell you are just an employee number. Once you learn something, you own it type of mentality. Office politics and bulling. Dirty tactics by senior management. Lower pay than most companies for similar jobs, no direction from managers unless it's crunch time. If you're not a manager, it's extremely difficult to move or grow within the company. No standard training offered to new hires, except for the do it yourself e-learning. Merger with Johnson Controls making future very uncertain for local group. Upper/executive management is scattered all over the world resulting in disconnected corporate communications.
