Pros

The majority of the workforce is local lifetime citizens of the area. It's one of the top 3 employers in the county. You see and work with people you've known all of your life everyday and get to help them feel better.

Cons

Senior management is mostly transplants from other areas of the US who seem to resent and look down their noses at the citizens of the county they work for. They are for the most part two faced who smile and glad hand in public but plot in meetings to squeeze that dollar to death and it doesn't make a difference who it hinders as long as they are not part of the equation. The CEO of this organization has the board of commissioners and trustees completely snowed with his personality.

Pros

There are some amazing people in the Radiology department. The CEO is truly phenomenal, but that's the only person in management hospital wide that is actually trying to make the place better. If he knew what was really going on I do feel like he would try to make positive changes.

Cons

Awful management with zero support on any front. The director, manager, and their immediate superior are more decorative than functional. They threaten you, often. There is no reward for hard work or dedication and the poor employees are often celebrated for doing the basics of their jobs. Absolutely no work life balance, they'll call you day and night to come in even if you're scheduled to be off. If the person coming in after you calls out or is late then you're expected to stay and work a 24hr shift, no matter what you have going on at home. Promises are made with no follow through. No opportunity for growth or development in your career. There is not enough money in all of the world that would ever make me consider going back to the dumpster fire this place is. It's honestly more of a zoo than an actual healthcare facility. Enter, only if you dare.
