Pros

the kids you work with can be cute and sweet. office staff will be fake nice to you to get you in the door.

Cons

Communication with the office is exceptionally terrible. If you are mistreated by a client they will do nothing to help you. You are just a means to an end to them, they will not treat you like a human being. I have never experienced this anywhere else in town, and I have worked with other small businesses that can and will advocate for their employees. Lesser complaints: being on call sucks. They can lock your availability so if you need a day off, they will not allow for you to change your availability. Families can still book you for times earlier than what you indicate you’re available for. Families take advantage of you, expect you to clean their house and do all of their dishes throughout the day. Do not expect a thank you! They will book you for jobs 20+ miles away and offer very little in mileage reimbursement.

Pros

I've worked with Jovie Newport Beach since 2022. I started as an on-call nanny and worked my way up into administration. I am now in charge of recruitment, event coordination, and general management. I love the company culture and encourage families to use our services and for potential nannies to apply! I have met many great people through the Jovie network! It has been great!

Cons

I can't think of any cons!

Pros

Help find you a family to work with. I could see how this could perhaps be great for part time

Cons

LOW PAY for the job. After 3 years with Jovie, I was getting paid $16/hr and my full-time family was paying somewhere from $26-28/hr. They told my nanny family I was getting higher raises than I was. MUCH fairer companies out there. No PTO due to "not being salaried employees" even though that's not how PTO works! Constantly nagged about logging in my hours even though I was always on top of it. Going through them was a pain. Don't recommend. Always wondered if why they rebranded from College Nannies and Sitters was to try to separate from all the negative reviews.
