Pros

The family I worked for was wonderful. That’s it.

Cons

The location I worked for only seemed to care about the money. They didn’t seem to care if I was sick, had personal emergencies, or if I didn’t feel safe with a family I was paired with. We have to complete “timesheets”, a summary, after every single job. They say you get 24 hours to do them, but be prepared to get endless texts about completing them if you don’t complete them within a few hours. They ask you to work long hours with no breaks, unless the kids take naps, and ask you drive to crazy locations. They say they’re flexible, but that’s a joke. You better be ready to take a job whenever they give it to you, even when they call you in the middle of the night. The pay is not worth it. They charge families a ridiculous amount of money and you only get maybe a quarter of it. The location I was with was very unorganized and pretty unfair. They had a 3 strike system which is basically “3 strikes and you’re out” but instead of being out, they docked your pay. You could get strikes if they reminded you to do your timesheets, if you have to decline a job, or if you have to call off for whatever reason (even if you’re sick). I left CSN+T a few months ago and I still receive calls/texts about completing assignments, timesheets, and if I can work. You can try to leave but good luck. Once you’re in their system, you’re in it for forever.

Pros

I've worked with Jovie Newport Beach since 2022. I started as an on-call nanny and worked my way up into administration. I am now in charge of recruitment, event coordination, and general management. I love the company culture and encourage families to use our services and for potential nannies to apply! I have met many great people through the Jovie network! It has been great!

Cons

I can't think of any cons!

Pros

Help find you a family to work with. I could see how this could perhaps be great for part time

Cons

LOW PAY for the job. After 3 years with Jovie, I was getting paid $16/hr and my full-time family was paying somewhere from $26-28/hr. They told my nanny family I was getting higher raises than I was. MUCH fairer companies out there. No PTO due to "not being salaried employees" even though that's not how PTO works! Constantly nagged about logging in my hours even though I was always on top of it. Going through them was a pain. Don't recommend. Always wondered if why they rebranded from College Nannies and Sitters was to try to separate from all the negative reviews.
