Pros

gave me insight into how freelance Botox work can be structured

Cons

I paid $2,000 upfront for Botox training with the understanding that I would be paid $100 per client. Clients’ payments were processed through Stripe using my Social Security number, meaning the full treatment revenue was reported under my name. Although I only received $100 per client, I was issued a 1099 reflecting the entire gross amount collected from clients as if I had earned all of that revenue. This resulted in a significant and unexpected tax burden. I understand some companies structure payments this way, but it is unclear why the full company revenue was reported as my income when I only received a small portion of each transaction. When I requested a detailed earnings summary needed to accurately file my taxes, the company refused to provide it and later denied responsibility. The compensation structure, payment processing, and tax reporting were not clearly explained in advance. Anyone considering working here should request clear written documentation regarding how revenue is processed and reported before agreeing to anything.

Pros

June is the best company I've ever worked for by far! - Really fun product and I enjoy the work that I do; - The team is great; we have company wide meetings every week in addition to monthly socializing events (virtual). - No micro-management, which I love; supportive, accessible manager; - Hours are ~9-5 but flexible if necessary, no weekends!! and remote-first company, which improves my quality of life tremendously; - Great benefits: health insurance including vision and dental, 401K, the company reimburses gym memberships and phone plans... PTO is unlimited for now although it'll change later this year. Overall I feel supported as an employee, I get to be autonomous and I believe I will have room to grow in the future. The company allows for a great work-life balance, one isn't given a hard time if they want to take time off for vacation or a doctor's appointment, and it's acceptable to work flexible hours if something comes up. Everyone at June is very nice and talented, and we have a healthy work environment.

Cons

Nothing comes to mind! It's all positives.
