Laid off without warning on 1/13/15 after 23 years of service. Received 3 months severance and my medical insurance was only good until 1/31/15. This was a low blow. The firm has gone down hill in the years I have worked there. There was a five year period when I worked there when the staff was given no annual raise. During this current layoff, some employees had been with the firm for 30+ years and then just got booted out like me. I was two years from retirement; now I have to look for a job. Also, some years back, the firm took away across the board one week's vacation for staff--no grandfathering, just everyone got one week's less vacation from then on. That one really hurt.
