Pros
Great people locally Like to give raises and promotions to those within the company first before considering outsiders Opportunity for growth in a position, ability to learn various jobs' tasks; one is never bored The company provides the rapidly growing online education field to those who are low-income, high-risk, and/or seek alternatives to brick & mortar schools Fabulous, cheap but all-inclusive benefits and discounted offers Pre-tax options for public transit, parking, etc. Significantly smarter and more organized about policies than other virtual academies or online schools Free public charter schooling options, tuition-based schools, as well as purchasable course material for homeschooling IS NOT HOMESCHOOLING, but rather structured teaching to students who are more independent and can learn virtually Flex time; work hours you want to work within reasonable work day times
Cons
Horrible errors and miscommunications with HQ, specifically Enrollment (lack of documentation People may be qualified for their position but aren't great a the job duties K12 gives them; k12 has an issue with not firing people who do not fulfill their duties Related to above; some supervisors do not monitor their employees' computers to ensure work is getting done but have the ability to do so There is a lack of new hire training Lack of information to all employees about the general operations of our local school(s), especially if you are paid hourly; we would like to be in the know as well
