Pros

The offices in Manchester are nice, and people are friendly. You get a reasonable company car every 3 years. There is an after hours social scene. Some training is provided on Syspro - enough to get started. There are some very knowledgeable employees who can help if you get stuck.

Cons

In-depth training is not provided. Any learning is done on your own. Job descriptions will use a phrase like "To show motivation and self-discipline in learning new modules and features of SYSPRO and associated products, including self-learning and learning in groups" which in other words means you are on your own. The K3 Syspro operational management and project management teams do not come from a Syspro background. They do not know the nuances of installing an ERP system, and frequently frustrate customers and consultants alike with ridiculous time bookings. You will not have a work-life balance. You are expected to give up your time on Sunday afternoons/evenings and 4 evenings a week to travel to customer sites that are located in a different part of the country to where you are currently. You will frequently have bookings to go see 4-5 customers a week in completely different parts of the country. You spend your life traveling on motorways, and you are not compensated for this financially or with additional time off. There is no career progression plan, or performance review system in place beyond the hand-holding you get when you initially begin working for K3 Syspro. The company culture is very "money is everything" focussed. The CEO is constantly harping on about 'meeting budget' and pushes everyone to upsell to customers and generally fill the diary with chargeable bookings. There are regular sales update emails sent out to everybody, but no recognition of good work done in implementation projects. As you are worked to the bone, fatigue is a very real danger. Driving while exhausted is extremely dangerous, and you could potentially lose your life. There is no stress management program. There are many great resources out there for organisations and individuals to manage stress, but these are ignored at K3 Syspro. You are likely to experience high levels of iso-strain (isolation strain) - Very high job demands, low control over how the work is performed (you are project managed to death), and very little contact with others (you are often on the road on your own). As a result, customer service is dire, and K3 Syspro are often in litigation with their customers and former employees.
