Pros
I work for a manager who cares and has taught me quite a lot. Most managers are not this way however...I think I just got lucky. Free parking garage or assistance with bus fare. People in my department have all been really nice and helpful. Somewhat flexible working hours.
Cons
Now that the economy has slowed down they took away all benefits. For example - Only earn 6 hours of PTO per month, have to make up holidays, lots of layoffs, can only carry over a certain number of PTO hours, haven't received a raise in several years now despite more work on my plate. Upper management has reduced our department staff quite a lot. Upper management only cares about the bottom line. Not much room to advance your career here.
