Pros

Working as an Associate at KPMG Lagos offers an exceptional learning experience, especially for young professionals who want to build a solid foundation in consulting. The exposure to top-tier clients across diverse industries helps you develop strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills early in your career. The firm has a strong performance-driven culture that pushes you to grow quickly, improve attention to detail, and handle complex projects with professionalism. You also gain access to world-class training resources, continuous learning opportunities, and mentorship from highly experienced professionals. The brand reputation of KPMG is another major advantage, as it opens doors to future career opportunities locally and internationally

Cons

The work environment can be very demanding, with long hours and tight deadlines, especially during peak periods. The fast-paced nature of client engagements sometimes means work-life balance can be difficult to maintain. Compensation, while fair for a global firm, may not always match the intensity of the workload at the entry level. Additionally, the hierarchical structure can make it challenging to influence decisions early in your career.

Cons

This is for the analytics practice within DAS. People were some of the worst I’ve ever worked with. They have zero empathy and no emotional intelligence. In addition, the leaders of the practice is arrogant and does not care a single bit about professional development and consistently talk behind people’s back. The work is non impactful, client is often not truly satisfied with the low quality AI slop deliverable, and extremely boring and repetitive. Pay is the lowest compare to other big 4 M&A analytics practice.
