Pros

Kabbage is small, and has a startup-like atmosphere with all the trappings that that entails. They have lots of cash to spend on company perks like beer kegs, yoga classes, free snacks and lunch, etc. Just like any startup you'll be asked to do a lot, and learn a lot more, very quickly. Your access to C-levels is unprecedented, and its possible to give your career a big boost if you perform somewhat well and can play a good political game. Culturally, the office is a giant frat-house, a point that some might consider a perk. They play hard, and work even harder.

Cons

The frat-house culture lends itself to cliques and deep personal biases within the company. In my time there, I saw people promoted, demoted, and fired based on their "fit", rather than on their performance. Project managers could not stay ahead of the developers, for the most part because the business kept changing their minds. When they'd finally pull the trigger, developers and QA are stuck working nights and weekends to get it done. Kabbage doesn't iterate they "innovate". If a project wasn't a success out the gate, it is gutted and re-implemented in a different technology, usually without any core changes. This also leads to frequent nights and weekends at the office. And again, success of a project was a perceived thing, there were no metrics for performance of code either. The technology they use has more to do with who C-levels like the most that month, and what resume-fodder they want to play with next, and not with what fit the needs of the product. They pay homage to Agile by holding stand-ups and having scrum teams, but in practice its a waterfall process with smaller deadlines. Compensation was good, but considering the hours you put in, should be higher. Benefits are not great, but they expected the perks to soften that somewhat. There is no work-life balance at Kabbage, only work. If you're not willing, or able, to put in the hours, it will count against you.
