Pros
Flexible schedule, and was provided with the necessary trainings and certifications. Communication with MLPs/BCBAs/office administration was always available and encouraged.
Cons
-Despite the trainings, you get thrown in to cases with only a few sessions that you shadow and after that you're kind of on your own. However, as a professional you do need to able to build rapport and hold your own as your supervisors can't always be present. -From my time there, only training we didn't get is on how to deescalate or work with clients that have aggressive tendencies. We're told to remove ourselves from the behavior, but from experience that option is not always available. -Although communication was available between RBTs and MLPs/BCBAs/office administration, there were times that the communication with the office and clients was unclear. For example, if there was a change, the office would not relay the information to my clients in a timely manner.
