Pros
I joined this company weeks before the COVID-19 pandemic. The perks and benefits were incredible. It seemed as though there were many resources, a strong network of clinicians, and a bright future ahead. This abruptly changed with the pandemic. Being burdened by this global crisis forced the leaders of the company to make some very tough decisions. There were many moves they could have potentially made. I can't say that I know all of what went into the decision-making, even though the company seemed very candid and transparent. But their objective was to put the families first. They needed to sustain the company and ensure continuity of services or as many families as they could. Although my position would no longer be available, I was offered a similar role at part-time capacity. It's hard to evaluate a company when all of that data that you have available to you was collected during a global pandemic. So if anything, I can only evaluate how this company responded when massive barriers to their success were thrust upon them. They treated everyone with dignity, even those who could not move forward at the company. They were careful and considerate. They were very transparent, upfront, and honest. They showed a great deal of humility. I never felt dehumanized or powerless. All in all, some incredible humans who had to make the sorts of decisions that most would hope to never have to deal with. Although there weren't many tangible benefits or opportunities leftover after the pandemic, at least they were still trying their best for their clients and offered whatever support they could to their staff. This is far more than what I can say for most other ABA companies I have worked at, even when there wasn't a pandemic.
Cons
Like with most medium-large sized ABA companies, there were a lot of moving parts. Doing something as simple as submitting a progress report involved more than necessary, in my opinion. There really doesn't need to be anyone involved except for the BCBA and the insurance case manager. Many aspects of the company were like this. The workflows just felt tedious sometimes. This structure has it's benefits, but it all starts too feel a bit absurd and bureaucratic whenever it seems inefficient.
