Pros
Compensation and benefits are slightly above average, but the workload is overwhelming and often unsustainable. Friendly environment for the most part, and when you're new. After awhile, you will know who you can trust. The most rewarding part of the job is supporting students and the daily engagement.
Cons
Many departments are understaffed, leading to many employees filling the void, and doing more for long periods.
There’s a noticeable lack of authenticity in workplace interactions.
Inconsistencies in administrative decisions have led to tension and envy between students from both campuses and all schools.
Support from upper management is lacking.
Work policies vary significantly depending on the department supervisor, leading to inconsistent expectations across campuses. For example, some departments allow work-from-home once a week, others once every two weeks, while some don’t permit it at all.
Many of the current policies are outdated—some haven’t been updated in over a decade and are in need of a thorough review and modernization.
Culture is different on each campus. KC campus has a lot of diversity with our staff, Joplin is trying.
